we went to watch the all blacks today at carisbrook stadium. it was SO AWESOME! before the match jo and i had fun getting ready. we rugged up in three layers, waist warmers, knee socks and scarves. and we put the NZ fern tattoos on our cheeks with the words all blacks below. hahaha so much fun. so we were walking there and it was like a sea of black snaking all the way to the stadium. so we walk in and as we're climbing the stairs you can see the flloodlights peeking over all the heads in front. then we reached the flat level and there's this huge stadium spread out in front of us and the stands are all blacked out. everyone was wearing black and the all blacks were warming up on the pitch. so sexciting already?! we found our seats and took loads of pictures.. then the band came on and these two giant flags of the all blacks and the springboks. but i felt so awful for the south african team. cos when they ran out onto the pitch, the whole crowd booed them. and then the all blacks ran out and these amazing fireworks blasted above the stadium and everyone was cheering! poor things.. after that the national anthems were sung and then the sexiest part :D the hakka!!! they did a new one today, different from the usual one and darling tana was leading it! :D:D he was so passionate about performing it and the whole match it was really great to watch.
kickoff.. and rocokoco is seriously FRYING GOOD. he scored two of the tries and they were so sneaky! ahh man it was so inspiring sitting there in the middle of this giant black crowd in 1 degree dunedin winter screaming for such a legendary team. we thought of you carol! and your mum and jas and mark. these people nearby us started a wave, and it went around the stadium five times! and there were all these drunk people around it was really funny. some guy got his pants pulled down by his friend and two streakers ran around the stadium trying to start new waves. hahaha it was crazy. ahh man SUCH a good experience. i wish you guys could've been there! and it was such a close match too! at first we were up but then the springboks scored a really well played try. we all thought the all blacks would lose cos there was only 10 minutes left. but then they fought and fought and mealamu finally scored with only 3 minutes to spare. carol and i were going to go mad! it was so tense but when the whistle went we really did go mad and screamed and screamed. hahaha it was so brilliant.
the photos will be up really soon. and the ones on monday when alex was here with me. she couldn't sit through another of my lectures. so we went with tomu to watch the ABs public training. then they had an autograph session and we got most of their autographs.. and alex and i took a photo with tana!! unfortunatalayy.. i had missed the chem lecture to go watch it, and the next day, i woke up to a msg from jo saying "this is hilarious. you skipped lect and turned up on the front page" and one from ATS, " nice pic on the ODT (otago daily times). who's the bf?"
?!!@#?!
so, naturally, i hyperventilate, then check the website and it turns out that a picture of the three of us was on the flipping front page of the newspaper. hahaha talk about embarrassing!
i hope everyones been alright. i miss you guys.
hang in there fang. you can do it pal. hang in there.
