i got such a happy surprise when i checked my mail yesterday. i had emails from charm tiff AND carol! three!! when i saw all of them lined up i just smiled and smiled. :D i'm going to save them for the weekend. haha! and a big thank you to boifren for your nice and frequent mails. it really sunshines my day when i get to hear from all of you.

things have been pretty much the same. getting to know more about our classmates though which is nice. we had company on our purple sofas today! bradley and mae and dena sat with us. i had a pie. and bradley said a pie is the equivalent of seventeen pieces of bread. crumbs. (haha!) and he also told me he dreamt i was chasing him with a knife. lovely. oh man summer sunshine just started playing. everytime i hear it i think of tiff and the geog trip. haha tiff do you remember how many dang times you played this song?! it's weird how quickly a memory can form. and how you associate things with something else all the time.

we had a field trip today. two or three classes walked to the gardens for bio to look at different adaptations of new zealand ecology. it was quite funny cos we were kinda expecting a field trip like in singapore where you walk in pairs and have lunchboxes and get scolded when you stray about a metre. but we gathered in the carparky place (i've gotten so eloquent here) and then Brian our bio teacher was like okay! follow the leader! and everyone just started walking with the other teacher. we just walked on the main roads and everything all spread out and we weren't even carrying anything.

the teachers didn't even check to see who was where and people were like with handbags and smoking and it was so funny to watch. especially cos we got to the first main road and suddenly saw saad drifting off down a side road on his own. hahaha. and when we all met up on top of this hill and had been writing for about ten minutes this guy in our class's phone started "when i was young and i though life was so wonderful oh it was magical". hahaha charm kristalle! and the teacher's were just joking about it! and he said it was sultan not knowing where we were, and then five minutes later sultan came trudging up the hill and took a worksheet. hahaha it was so funny.

today wasnt a very good day physically. i dunno what's going on but i hope it goes away. I'm getting used to peter now. at first i was quite uncomfy cos he had this fascination with my red hair. cos he has certain likings for certain colours and it just happened to be red. and you guys know what i'm like about people. but it's alright now, and he had these amazing abilities! he has the calendars about 50years back and 50years forwards in his head. IN HIS HEAD! seriously. you can ask him anything like what day was it on the 17th of august 1944 and he can just tell you straight away. A-N-Y DAY!! he knows every stamp ever made and all the present and past presidents anywhere in the world. it's really scary. Andrew has read every version of the bible and you can ask him about any verse and he'll tell you where they're from. he edits the encyclopedia and writes argumentative essays on catholicism vs christianity that kinda thing. and they're thirteen. really puts my sorry mind in perspective.

we were watching the news during dinner and the presenter was talking about the tsunami. and when she announced that it has been a whole month since it happened i couldnt believe it! a month. this is our third week here though it seems much longer.

it's 9:20 here. jo's having a nap. i've given up staying up to go online! only on weekends i guess. so i hope i'll get to talk to you guys some way. please dont get too busy! keep hydrated. oh yeah i;ve got to bring a jug down for us. update everyone!
